Have you ever complained about the poor response to your job add or experienced great difficulties in finding the right candidate for a new job opening?
It seems that most small and medium-size law firms struggle when it comes to finding the ideal recruit for the job. Attracting promising candidates to apply to smaller firms is sometimes challenging and young talents often dream of joining larger law firms for the potential growth opportunities they offer without considering smaller firms.
Nonetheless, once the candidates are in position, they sometimes realise their work is not as fulfilling as they first imagined. Smaller and medium-size law firms offer a great deal of advantages to their new recruits and are usually much more inclined to offer them great mentoring opportunities and a wider range of professional exposure which results in a steeper learning curve for their recruits and gets them ready for the job.
After numerous talks and encounters with colleagues and members, Stefan Daubner, Partner at Busekist Winter & Partner in Düsseldorf, has been thinking of putting a solution in place to enhance the hiring process of member firms by putting together a challenging yet promising solution called Job Market.
Developed in cooperation with Eurojuris secretariat, “Eurojuris Job Market” aims to fill in the gaps and help coordinate all career opportunities available at EJ member firms from 600 cities in more than 50 countries.
Whether a local administrative assistant is needed in Brussels, a trainee required in Madrid or a specific international senior profile is in shortage in Copenhagen, Eurojuris aims to provide its members with an extended visibility and make their job add accessible throughout the EJ network, District Courts job postings and student alumni associations.
After a short testing period focussed on the German market, Stefan Daubner hopes to be able to extend this solution to all EJ members by spring/summer 2017.
By this time, any member firm will be able to post its vacancies onto the system labelling their job vacancy specifics and get immediate response from candidate applying directly to their firms.
With this initiative, Stefan hopes to help Eurojuris member firms liaise contacts with the best profiles and foster cooperation within the network by creating a new dynamic environment and help attract new talents.
Stefan Daubner comments: “I am very hopeful for this new solution and am looking forward to your feedback and comments on this initiative. I will be presenting this idea to a EJ Germany meeting in Hamburg next week and test its limits”.
We will surely update you on the progress of such a promising initiative but meanwhile, do not hesitate to communicate us your job opportunities.
